The right time to go on the Hampta Pass Trek is from May to October because it is a good season for trekking. Every part of the season produces different things or has something different to narrate. During May and June in the early tourist season, trekkers are blessed with snowy trails and beautiful sceneries on the snow clad mountains. When July and August arrive monsoon, the landscape becomes breathtaking with numbers of waterfalls running down the slopes and green trees and shrubs decorating the trail. From September and October, it becomes colder – but there are good clear skies and perfect visibility of distant mountains and valleys.
The trek takes five days and four nights which therefore makes the expedition an ideal one for those who want an exciting trekking adventure but at the same time cannot afford a long duration of trekking. During these days, trekkers enjoy a mix of activities that go beyond just walking. Each day offers opportunities for camping under starlit skies, group bonding around campfires, and photography sessions to capture the unparalleled beauty of the region. In the evenings when tourists can find shelter in tents, very charming guesthouses are also ideal for storytelling and healthy eating. The most memorable activity probably is the change of the landscape in Kullu Valley and the barren, dramatic landscape of Spiti Valley.
