Tour Overview

Are you imagining yourself skiing down snow-covered slopes with views of the Himalayas in the background, at Auli? A town nestled within Uttarakhand's Garhwal region that can make this dream come true for you?
Auli is renowned as one of the winter getaways, in India with breathtaking views of mountains and slopes covered in pristine snowfall. Whether you're a skier or simply looking to explore something exciting in this snowy haven; Auli is the perfect place for both adventure seekers and those seeking a tranquil escape, amidst nature's beauty.
Embark, on our planned 5-day winter getaway featuring skiing adventures and leisurely sightseeing excursions complemented by cozy accommodations, in quaint guesthouses and upscale ski resorts—a harmonious mix of excitement and relaxation tailored to make lasting memories.
The place came into prominence when in the 8th century, Adi Guru Sri Shankaracharya established a monastery (Jyotir Matha or Sri Shankaracharya Matha) at Joshimatha, about 6.6 km from Auli, which still exists today. After the establishment of the monastery, the place also came to be known as the "Himalayan Gateway". After establishing this account, Adi Shankaracharya went ahead like Badrinath. Semi-nomadic tribes of Tibetans, Mongolians, and Bhotias traded and communicated between Tibet (China) and India from here. They crossed the snowy glaciers with the help of their long-haired yak horses. The famous Trishul Peak (23,490 feet) is the setting for a unique trek that happened here in 1958. It took about four days to climb and about 90 minutes to run down to the summit.
Auli is a ski resort and used to be marketed as a tourist destination after the formation of the state of Uttarakhand, a part of Uttar Pradesh, Auli is surrounded by palm trees and oak forests, offering views of the Himalayas well above the mountains. The downhill area is designed for professional skiers and beginners alike. Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Ltd (GMVNL) the state government agency that runs the resort, and the Uttarakhand Tourism Department organize winter sports competitions in Auli to promote skiing in India. Located 4 km (2.5 miles) cable car, chair lift, and ski lift, as well as a maintained trekking trail is also available. There is a settlement for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. There is also a small Hindu temple associated with the Hindu epic Ramayana.
