Trek Overview

At an altitude of 14,000 feet, above sea level in Himachal Pradesh lies the Hampta Pass trek that links the Kullu Valley with Lahaul Spiti region. This trek presents an adventure through landscapes showcasing stunning vistas that transition, from verdant valleys to barren high altitude deserts. Commencing from the well known starting point of Manali. Famed for its scenic charm and vibrant cultural legacy. This trek offers a journey that highlights the magnificence of the Himalayas.
The name Hampta Pass originates from the village of Hampta nearby which served as a trade route for shepherds and traders in times. This trek is significant as it linked the green Kullu Valley with the arid Spiti Valley in the past. Nowadays it serves as a tribute to the region's heritage. Offers hikers a wonderful chance to discover the stunning natural beauty of the area.
The term Hampta Pass comes from the village of Hampta that is situated close to the path and has served as a trading route for nearby shepherds and merchants. This trek, rich in history, was once a vital path connecting the fertile Kullu Valley with the arid landscapes of the Spiti Valley. Today then it has become a drawing card to the area’s cultural history as well as an unparalleled trekking adventure to the natural landscape.
The Hampta Pass Trek is again first-timer and professional both equally suitable because of the moderate difficulties and massage trails. Having been rated easy to moderate in difficulty, it’s with manage for anyone wanting to undertake their first encounter with the highlands. This has been found to be a plus to the hiker because no matter how many times one has hiked.

The right time to go on the Hampta Pass Trek is from May to October because it is a good season for trekking. Every part of the season produces different things or has something different to narrate. During May and June in the early tourist season, trekkers are blessed with snowy trails and beautiful sceneries on the snow clad mountains. When July and August arrive monsoon, the landscape becomes breathtaking with numbers of waterfalls running down the slopes and green trees and shrubs decorating the trail. From September and October, it becomes colder – but there are good clear skies and perfect visibility of distant mountains and valleys.
The trek takes five days and four nights which therefore makes the expedition an ideal one for those who want an exciting trekking adventure but at the same time cannot afford a long duration of trekking. During these days, trekkers enjoy a mix of activities that go beyond just walking. Each day offers opportunities for camping under starlit skies, group bonding around campfires, and photography sessions to capture the unparalleled beauty of the region. In the evenings when tourists can find shelter in tents, very charming guesthouses are also ideal for storytelling and healthy eating. The most memorable activity probably is the change of the landscape in Kullu Valley and the barren, dramatic landscape of Spiti Valley.
