Kedarnath - The trek: Located at the foot of the Garhwal Himalayas at 3,583 meters, Kedarnath is where time seems to stand still. Legend of the Pandavas: According to legend, the Pandavas built temples to atone for their sins after the Mahabharata War. While fleeing from the Pandavas, Lord Shiva took the form of a cow and disappeared on Earth at Kedarnath. It is believed that this temple was built on the site where Lord Shiva disappeared.

Legend of Nar and Narayana: According to legend, the sage duo Nar and Narayan performed penance and asked Lord Shiva to reside in Kedarnath forever. Shiva agreed, and since then, he has resided in the Shiv Linga Triangle. The temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, the holiest Hindu temples of Lord Shiva. It is also one of the four sacred shrines of India, known as the Char Dhams.
